Police shoot burglary suspect in Van Nuys

Los Angeles police officers responding to a burglary call in Van Nuys shot a man early Sunday afternoon.
The shooting occurred about 1 p.m. in the 6900 block of Kester Avenue, said LAPD Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
The man was hit, but the department was not prepared to release his condition or say whether he had been armed, Lopez said Sunday afternoon.
No officers were injured in the encounter, Lopez said.
