The deal: Vacation Village, which fronts the ocean in Laguna, has a spring special that offers rooms starting at $89 a night Mondays through Thursdays; weekend prices start at $109 a night. To upgrade to a room with an ocean view, add $40 per night; for an oceanfront room, add $80 per night.
The hotel: Vacation Village is an independently owned hotel on 280 feet of private beach in downtown Laguna Beach. The property includes 27 family suites, 103 guest rooms, two heated pools and a Jacuzzi. The hotel underwent a $2 million renovation in 2007.
