Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig leaves game against Rockies with knee injury

He didn’t crash into a wall or dive in the outfield for a liner, but Yasiel Puig still managed to tweak something Monday.
Puig left the Dodgers’ 10-8 victory in Colorado after the fifth inning, having sustained what the team said was a mild right knee strain.
It’s uncertain when and how he suffered the injury. In the top of the sixth, he seemed to land awkwardly going back to first on a pickoff attempt. He hit the bag hard and initially stood grimacing with hands on hips.
He then ran to third base seemingly without trouble on an Adrian Gonzalez single. After safely sliding into third, however, he did come up slowly and appeared to point to his knee. He then tagged and scored easily on a Hanley Ramirez fly out to give the Dodgers the lead, so the injury did not appear too bad.
But he did not return to right field to start the bottom of the inning. Skip Schumaker took the field instead.
