Boys’ basketball: Chino Hills knocks off No. 1 Montverde, 83-82, in Florida

The Ball brothers are about to get their national moment.
LiAngelo, Lonzo and LaMelo Ball combined for 77 points to help Chino Hills knock off Florida Montverde, 83-82, in the City of Palms tournament on Monday night in Florida.
Montverde was ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today. Chino Hills is ranked No. 1 in Southern California by The Times.
LiAngelo scored 32 points, Lonzo had 29 and LaMelo, the freshman, had 16. LiAngelo made a clutch three-pointer off an assist from Lonzo, then added two free throws in the final seconds to make Chino Hills 7-0.
Lonzo has signed with UCLA and the other two brothers are also UCLA commits.
Chino Hills advances to Tuesday’s semifinals.
