Boys’ basketball: Fast starts for Tesoro’s John Jenkins and West Ranch’s Ryne Williams

John Jenkins, a 6-foot-3 senior guard at Tesoro, averaged 28.5 points in four games last week in the Buena Park tournament, making the all-tourney team. Tesoro lost to La Mirada in the final.
Ryne Williams, a 6-10 senior center at West Ranch, had 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks in a win over Harvard-Westlake last week in the Santa Monica tournament. He gets to face Village Christian on Friday.
