Football: Final verdict on South Gate forfeits coming down next week
- Share via
It’s looking likely that South Gate, 5-2 on the season and 2-0 in the Eastern League, will have to forfeit all its games this season because of ineligible players.
A final decision is not expected until next week from the City Section, but South Gate officials are aware of a preliminary report on the problems uncovered after an investigation.
The issues involve one player who was never on an official eligibility roster; another player who gave a false address and another player who had incomplete transfer paperwork.
Coach Jose Casagran said his team was resilient and planned to be ready for Friday’s rivalry game against South East.
