Michael Mathewes of Mission Viejo, 6-5 and 245 pounds, might be the best player on his team. Tyler Puccio of Moorpark is the returning defensive MVP from the Marmonte league. Ainuu Taua of Lompoc is back and scoring offensive coordinators trying to figure out how to block him.
St. John Bosco’s powerful defensive line will be led by the versatile Malik Dorton. Vista Murrieta has a pair of veteran defensive ends in Curtis Bolton and Tyler Cook. Hunter Mattox of Westlake is a junior on the rise. Ditto for junior Joseph Wicker of Long Beach Poly.
