Football: Six Cathedral players are reinstated

Six L.A. Cathedral football players who were suspended from last week’s game against St. Francis while an investigation into an alleged hazing incident was taking place have been reinstated, Coach Kevin Pearson said.
Four other players have withdrawn from school, Pearson said.
Cathedral (7-1, 2-1) lost to St Francis, 31-14, last week and plays Harvard-Westlake on Friday in a battle for first place in the Angelus League.
On Wednesday, Cathedral held a special school assembly for all students and teachers and addressed the hazing incident and “how such actions are inconsistent with the values and Lasallian Catholic values we expect everyone to uphold,” according to Principal Brother John Montgomery.
Additional steps will be taken going forward to promote a student code of conduct for all student-athletes, Montgomery said in an email.
