It was a little hot, but North Hollywood football Coach Carlos Trujillo made it through the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday in five hours, 12 minutes.
“I was one of those crazies,” he said.
North Hollywood had a contingent of 13 runners, half of whom run for the track team, where Trujillo is also the coach.
“It was good to be out there,” he said. “They were quite a bit ahead. The point was I was running with them. It was fun.”
Trujillo said Mark Palacios was the fastest of the Huskies’ representatives, finishing in three hours, 23 minutes.
Trujillo has completed two L.A. Marathons. He said this one was a little tougher because of the heat and less preparation time.
“I was way faster last year,” he said.
