Update: The Ducks said defenseman Nate Guenin might miss the remainder of the season after taking a puck to his forehead. It happened in Wednesday’s 4-3 victory over St. Louis. Guenin returned to action later in the game. He has played in 15 games this season, scoring twice, and is a plus-six.
Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller has been nominated for the Masterton Trophy by the Anaheim chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Assn. Hiller made 68 starts for the Ducks last season, coming back strong after getting hit hard by vertigo symptoms in the second half of last season.
“Jonas faced a lot of adversity over the past year and responded tremendously,” said Ducks General Manager Bob Murray.
Of the Ducks’ 42 power-play goals this season, Corey Perry and Teemu Selanne have combined for 24 of them. The only other player with more than three is Ryan Getzlaf, who has scored four. Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky, who had five power-play goals last season, has scored one this season.
