Allyson Felix runs season-best time in 200 meters

Olympic 200-meter champion Allyson Felix ran a season-best time of 22.30 seconds in the semifinals of her specialty Thursday evening at the World Championships in Moscow, giving her a place in Friday’s final.

Jeneba Tarmoh also advanced after recording a season-best 22.70. Charonda Williams of the U.S. qualified with a 22.80, but the fourth American entrant, Kimberlyn Duncan, was timed in 22.91 and didn’t qualify for the eight-woman final.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica, who won the women’s 100 earlier in the meet, kept alive her chance for the sprint double with a time of 22.54 in winning her semifinal heat.
