UCLA linebacker Eric Kendricks was selected the Pac-12 Conference’s defensive player of the week for his performance in the Bruins’ 28-20 victory over Virginia on Saturday.
Kendricks, a senior, had 16 tackles, forced a fumble and intercepted a pass. He was directly responsible for 14 of UCLA’s points.
Kendricks returned the interception 37 yards for a touchdown. Randall Goforth scooped up the fumble Kendricks forced and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown.
“It comes from good practice habits,” Kendricks said. “You have to be running to the ball. That’s what we do every practice.”
