Red Roof’s new line of more upscale, centrally located hotels, called the Red Collection, rolls out with the St. Clair near the Mag Mile.

The soon-to-open St. Clair takes its name from the intersection it sits on at Ontario and St. Clair streets in the city’s Gold Coast. The primo location made it an ideal choice as Red Roof’s first Red Collection hotel, company officials said. (Kristen Norman/for the Chicago Tribune)
