West Hollywood: Sunset Marquis pool membership costs $3K. Who’s in?

Who doesn’t want to hang out at the posh pool at the Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood where the likes of Joan Jett, the Doors, the Who and Bruce Springsteen have stayed.
The nicely aging rocker hotel (it got a face-lift when it hit 50 in 2013), which continues to draw A-listers, wants $3,000 from non-guests for a pool membership that’s good for a year of swimming, lounging and people-gawking.
Membership is limited to 15 people. Pool services, access to music events and bars, wine and liquor tastings, free Sunday brunch, a free suite for a night, discounted valet parking, and other perks are included too. Members are allowed to bring guests, but only one or two at a time.
The hotel’s announcement about pool membership implies it’s a bit of a secret, but the hotel made a similar offer last year, according to Hotel Chatter, which reported the price tag then was $2,000 for a year and $1,500 for a half-year.
So it’s back -- with a higher price but the same allure. If you’re not up for membership but want to make a splash, you can always get a room -- the cheapest ones cost $315 to $395 a night.
Info: Sunset Marquis, 1200 Alta Loma Road, West Hollywood; (310) 657-1333.
