Countywide : ‘Cold’ O.C. Hot Line May Be Discontinued

A citizen hot line created to field suggestions about how Orange County government could be more efficient has run cold less than a year in operation. Since June, only 50 calls have been recorded, prompting Supervisor Thomas F. Riley to ask that the service be discontinued.
“I do not feel it appropriate to continue a service which is not being utilized by the residents of Orange County,” Riley said in a memo to County Administrative Officer Ernie Schneider. “Therefore, I request the cancellation of the . . . line immediately.”
Riley said that most of the calls were received in the first month of operation.
