AST Still Helping Out

Amid all the turmoil at AST Research Inc., the beleaguered computer company is still managing to help out local organizations.
AST recently donated four portable computers to the Orange County Fire Authority. Three of the PCs will be used to help teach fire awareness to fifth-grade students in Orange County. The fourth will be used for day-to-day fire authority communications, said Sherri Butterfield, chairwoman of the fire authority’s board of directors.
