Zale Corp., the nation’s largest jewelry retailer, settled charges by the Federal Trade Commission that advertisements for its “Ocean Treasure” imitation pearls deceived consumers into thinking the pearls were cultured. In its agreement, Zale agreed to clearly state in its ads whether a pearl is imitation or cultured. . . . Ford Motor Co. said Lear Corp. will begin building seats for its Expedition in an effort to alleviate a strike-caused shortage that has halted production of the highly profitable sport-utility vehicle.
