LOCAL NOTES : Newidouski Named Ocean View Girls’ Coach

Adara Newidouski, a former Times All-Orange County first-team selection at Dana Hills High, has been named girls’ basketball coach at Ocean View.
Newidouski played at Long Beach State from 1993 to 1997.
Newidouski left Dana Hills as its all-time leading scorer, graduating in 1993 after averaging 16.1 points and 9.5 rebounds as a senior. This is her first job as a head coach; she was junior varsity coach at Long Beach Wilson last season.
SKATEBOARDING
Tony Hawk, Willy Santos and Steve Caballeros are among those who will compete at the invitation-only $106,500 World Championships of Skateboarding near the Huntington Beach Pier from Oct. 1-3. It is the third stop of the Vans Triple Crown of Skateboarding.
