The La Habra Historical Society recently planted two palm trees at Sonora High School in a step toward meeting its goal of planting 2,000 trees by January 2000.
The society’s next tree planting is at the La Habra Public Library. So far the society has planted 100 trees. This marks 500 private and public trees that have been planted both by the society and the city.
Members of the La Habra Old Settler’s Historical Society, the oldest historical society in Orange County, are soliciting funds from business and community members to buy trees and plant them around the city in time for La Habra’s 75th anniversary celebration Jan. 20. Information: (562) 697-1271.
